Starting out in Internet Marketing is kind of like trying to work your way through a maze in the dark, it’s not easy! I have been playing on the very, very fringe of Internet Marketing for about a year and a half. My full time job does not permit me to spend too much time on it. But when I get the chance I like to try and dip my toe in the water and attempt to make some sense of it all. I am, by and large, a practical person. And so I realize that untold wealth is not going to fall out of the sky simply because I put a website in place, start a blog and promote a few affiliate products. This blog is about both looking for good opportunities but also to ‘out’ some of those things that I think are misleading and deceitful.

GadgetSpots heralds a new approach to collaborative online ad networking. It is the first online advertising network to share ad displays amongst its members on different levels.
It is similar to Adsense in that you display ad on your website in an Adsense-type tower or banner, the difference is that you can add your own ads to the network at no extra charge, this is not a pay per click model.

When a website visitor views a webpage that contains a GadgetSpots Network gadget they will see a display of ads in either and tower or banner style that we are used to seeing from Adsense. The website owner can easily customize the gadget by editing it’s attributes to change things like the text and background colors and the width and height.

Every gadget displays a link inviting anyone viewing the gadget ads to advertise on the GadgetSpots Network. This Affiliate link allows you to passivly generate income from those people who choose to join the program.

Bill Burdin, CEO of Websitings, the company behind GadgetSpots said, “The affiliate referral structure is is an innovative addition for members, and to the best of my knowledge, there is no other ad network that offers any such a feature to its publishers. The system has already delivered traffic and if it grows then I see paying for a small monthly subscription as making good sense especially since you control the wording of your ad in the GadgetSpots widget that goes on other people’s sites.

One of the things you can do with GadgetSpots ads, as you can with any traffic generating system, is to promote something that can make money for you on autopilot so you really need to have either a commercial website of some sort or to have selected a product you can sell as an affiliate. This passive income dimension is potentially very valuable and will certainly help to make GadgetSpots grow virally.
